Cavendish Laboratories was established in 1995 to provide a service that is both professional and competent in the fields of asbestos and water testing, and has held UKAS accreditation for its testing services since its formation. UKAS accreditation is against the international standard ISO/IEC 17025, Laboratory Testing Accreditation Number 1643.

Founded on excellence, customers receive high quality, reliable results. The laboratories are accredited for a diverse range of tests, with the ability to provide analysis together with recommendations.

The organisation benefits from a permanent laboratory in Chelmsford, Essex within easy access of the M25 and M11 providing a convenient drop-off point for delivery of water and asbestos samples for testing.

The services available at the permanent laboratory are complimented by a fleet of UKAS accredited mobile laboratories ensuring that asbestos fibre counting can be carried out directly on any site, at any time of day or night, with immediate results and still provide service distinction.

Recruiting for P401 Asbestos Bulk Analysts

Location: Cavendish Laboratories
Hours: Monday–Friday, 09:00–17:00

Cavendish Laboratories is a well-established and highly respected asbestos and water testing laboratory, proudly celebrating over 30 years in the industry. We are expanding our team and have full-time positions available for qualified Asbestos Bulk Analysts holding the P401 certificate.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse bulk asbestos samples in accordance with UKAS and HSE guidelines
Ensure accurate recording, interpretation and reporting of results
Follow laboratory procedures, quality standards and safety protocols
Maintain sample integrity and ensure timely processing
Support daily laboratory operations and contribute to continuous improvement
Participate in quality control and proficiency testing as required

Requirements

P401 qualification (essential)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to follow strict laboratory procedures and safety standards
Good communication and organisational skills
Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced laboratory environment

Asbestos Surveying

We are pleased to announce that we are now in a position to carry out Asbestos Management and Refurbishment & Demolition Surveys to both domestic and industrial properties all carried out in accordance with HSG264 by our team of qualified surveyors. Samples will be returned and analysed in our own UKAS accredited laboratory facilities.

Please note: this is outside the scope of our UKAS accreditation
